Exercising might not be a priority in our lives as we try to protect ourselves, our families, and our communities during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Perhaps it should be, as physical activity is one of the most powerful forces for good health. Physical activity helps prevent and/or treat many physical and mental health conditions. Staying active can reduce stress, improve our immune system, and strengthen our muscles.

IN THE GOOD ‘OL DAYS mornings were bedlam. Feed the pets, put out the trash, get something resembling clothing on the kids, cram some toast or coffee down our throats and run out the door like zombies had finally found a way in. Now, we get out of bed and walk a few steps to our makeshift offices ─ room corner, kitchen counter, laundry room, ironing board ─ and sit as far away from our computers so our co-workers can’t see our imperfections on Zoom.

Helping Gauchos Dress for Success

The Campus Store partnered this winter with the Career Clothing Closet event led by Stacey Eyma. A team of volunteers set up and distributed items in the Campus Store lobby on January 16 from 11am to 3pm. Lightly used professional clothing was donated by campus staff, faculty and even by Chancellor Yang. The items were then offered to all students in need of professional business attire for future job interviews or professional events.
