Fine Art and Fine Dining, a Perfect Pairing
A striking piece by American contemporary artist Matt Mullican is currently on view at The Club & Guest House! If you've enjoyed lunch in the Dining Room since August, you've likely noticed this vibrant addition installed on its upper southeast wall. The large-scale artwork titled Untitled (The Elements) by Mullican has been on loan from the Art, Design & Architecture (AD&A) Museum as part of an ongoing campus collaboration between The Club and The Museum.
The Museum elaborates:
“In Untitled (The Elements), rubbed outlines of fire, mountains, trees, and sky appear as though submerged in green. Mullican further connects this monochromatic landscape with cosmology by using a diptych format, traditionally associated with the sacred or spiritual. In this way, Mullican is deconstructing preconceived notions of reality to elevate his own worldview–one he returns to again and again throughout this practice.”
Come admire this stunning painting in person – and stay for lunch! The Dining Room is now serving its new Spring & Summer Lunch Menu and is open to the public for lunch Monday-Friday, 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
