IV Elementary Goes to the UCen

On June 2, the UCen had the opportunity to welcome 55 kindergarteners from Isla Vista Elementary School for a special tour. This would provide them with an experience into what their future could look like at UC Santa Barbara. The tour lasted about an hour, and included stops throughout the UCen. They were greeted with colorful welcome posters, and the students explored their surroundings. Accompanied by 14 teachers. the students enjoyed snack bags provided by the Admin Office team on the lagoon patio. The tour was led by Chawn Lemons (Meetings and Events Manager), Arlene Contreras (Administrative Coordinator), and student employees Peyton Stoller and Jayna Shagal. At the Campus Store, the children were happy to receive coloring sheets, imagining them as future Gauchos of 2037-2038. The visit was filled with smiles, laughter, and inspiration. It was such a joyful experience for everyone involved.
