HDAE’s Wellness program recently hosted "Snow Wonder," the annual UC-wide holiday challenge supported by Kaiser. This initiative allowed participants to track their physical activity by syncing their smart phones and/or watches to a dedicated app.  Users had the choice to form teams, post encouraging messages on the wall, and track their daily habits such as steps, water intake and fruit consumption. The challenge had an impressive engagement of 126 participants and 11 teams.  Together UC Santa Barbara logged a staggering 27386823 steps-the equivalent of 13 thousand miles! Thanks to this collective effort, our campus placed 2nd among all UC campuses!

Snow wanderers also had the opportunity to attend various wellness offerings, including yoga, an Ab-Solute exercise class, and a nutrition workshop. The program kept staff active and engaged during the busy holiday season. Overall, the Snow Wonder challenge was a successful and energizing initiative that promoted physical activity, community connection, and wellness across campus.  HDAE’s wellness program looks forward to continuing to find meaningful ways to support staff’s well being through encouraging movement, and connection.
