UC Moves Bloom quickly came to an end!   Throughout the month of May, our UC-wide challenge kept us moving and building healthy habits. Everyone tracked their steps using the UC Moves Bloom app (funded by Kaiser and HES program) either by syncing their device or logging activities manually entering their daily physical activities.

All participants received weekly motivational emails and had opportunities to engage in lunch hour wellness events hosted by HDAE’s wellness program; campus walk, yoga class, and an exercise class. UCSB had a total of 285 participants (staff and faculty), who collectively logged 71,402,899 steps during the challenge. Way to go Gauchos, we placed 6th overall among all participating UC campuses.

We're thrilled to celebrate Gloria Correno for achieving the highest individual step count within the HDAE department, and we also want to commend the "Food Fanatics Team"—Alexis Guerra, Danielle Sinclair, Eriko MacDonald, Edith Ramirez, and Jill Horst—for securing the top team score.

A special thank-you to Kaiser for funding the event and providing prizes, including bamboo serving trays, cooler bags, wireless speakers, and wireless headphones.
